We had a 92-year-old patient at work today who mentioned having a fiancé. My coworker asked her when she planned on getting married, to which she replied, “Oh, we’re not getting married. We went to Hawaii last year, and since it was a leap year, I asked him. It’s nice to have someone around.” Her husband had passed away six years earlier, and so had his wife. Sometimes I love people so much.
